2019 and Into 2020

It’s not too late for a previous year recap, right?

2019 was not easy by any means. Many aspects of it made downright not fun, stressful and overall a weird year. But one thing made 2019 the best year I’ve ever had. That one this is obviously Layton.

In July, Ben and I welcomed this amazing little man into our lives. I know you’ve heard it before, but you truly don’t know how much you can love until you have a child. Sometimes I call myself the “Reluctant Mother” because for the longest time I wasn’t sure if I wanted kids or not. Even when Ben and I first got together, and a few years into our relationship, I wasn’t sure. When I used to think about having a baby, the idea freaked me out, to say the least. I was scared of pregnancy and labor as a whole and frankly, I thought I would be too selfish to be a good mom.

Well, life has a way of making decisions for you and I can tell you none of my worries even come into play. Selfish isn’t even a word in our house anymore and I am soaking up all the snuggles, midnight rockings and loud noises I can get.

Well, maybe not the loud noises.

Oct, Babys First Road Trip! Drive out with an overnight trip to Grand Junction for our Cross Country Regionals meet. We also went to the Colorado National Monument

Nov, baby’s first flight and National Park! We flew out to Vegas to meet Ben after he took a rock guiding certification and all drove back together. On the way, we stopped in Zion for some sight seeing and hiking!
