So… I’m not very fashion-savy. Not in the least. I’ve never been up to speed on the latest trends and typically when I think something is cute/stylish, nobody else does. Now, that’s not to say I don’t LIKE looking cute and stylish, I’m just not very good at picking stuff out. I rarely crave going shopping and when I do go, I usually don’t end up having the patience for it and it stresses me out. Then again, I am not a typical girl!

The same goes for my running clothes. There’s a ton of cute athletic wear out there, but I just don’t find it. Most of my running clothes have been given to me for free (shirts from races and gear from my job with 3W Races) or bought at Walmart (sports bras and shorts). I do have a lot of Skirt Sports gear from when I was an ambassador for them and that’s about as “cute” and stylish as I get.

Thankfully, a solution is out there for people like me. Let me introduce you to Mercury Mile. This shopping delivery service is perfect for the busy runner, the shopping-phobic person, and the fashion-deficit active person. They find out what you’re like and what kind of clothes you like and a stylist hand-picks outfits out for you! It’s not a subscription service; you don’t get boxes on a monthly bases, but you can trigger as many boxes as you want!

It’s super easy too and totally takes the stress off of going shopping!

Step 1: Fill out your runner’s profile
This is actually pretty fun and asks you a ton of running-apparel questions to get a good sense of your style and the type of runner you are. This plays into the type of clothes you’ll need. It only takes about 5-10 minutes.

Step 2: Wait for your package to come in the mail!
It really only took a couple of days and it was on my doorstep!

Step 3: Un-Box and try on everything
Better yet, hold a little fashion show in your bedroom!

Step 4: Only keep what you like and mail back everything else in the pre-postaged mailer that’s included in the box!

This was the first time I had ever tried anything like this and I was pretty impressed. I think my stylist did a pretty good job. In the runner’s profile that you fill out, you can link your Instagram account as well for them to take a look at and see what you typically wear. When my box came, there was a note from the stylist and it even referenced things from the runner’s profile and my Instagram!

The best part is, it doesn’t cost more than going to the store! You only pay for what you keep and even though there’s a $20 stylist fee, that goes toward the items you keep! I ended up keeping two of the items that I really loved. I liked all the rest, but they didn’t fit me quite right. Now, I could have exchanged them for different sizes (another cool feature) but I opted out to save money!

I would definitely recommend this service to anyone looking for some stylish, new running or activewear clothes! It totally takes the hassle out of going to the store, is taylored just for you, and costs the same amount as shopping out and about! They also do this for men, too!

What do you think of the outfit I kept!?

Five Reasons I love the Redemption Capri (gear review!)

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that I am a Skirt Sports Ambassador. I wrote about it a while back and still love being a part of the movement. In addition to the message it sends women (#RealWomenMove) about getting out there and accomplishing dreams and goals, the products themselves are very well made and fit all body types – and that is pretty awesome! They are made for women, designed by women and the company is great about taking feedback into consideration (they even have a “sewing room” where you can submit ideas and if others like it, you’ll see it made!).

One of my favorite products is actually not even a skirt, it’s the Redemption Capri! Here’s 5 Reasons Why:

1. They are very adaptable – and work for multiple types of sports!
I love supporting and showing off Skirt Sports when I’m outside, but one of the activities I enjoy the most is rock climbing. You can’t wear a skirt climbing, even if there are shorts underneath. Frankly, it’s not safe – the skirt can get caught in so many places – and it looks quite ridiculous when you’re belaying. I CAN wear the Redemption Capris on the rock wall! No risk of fabric getting caught in an ATC (belay device).

Running in them (and other activities) is perfect as well! I am always working and coaching in them.

2. They come in multiple fun patterns
I have the Tantrum and the Safari Print. It also comes in plain black, Frolic print, and Enchanted print. See Skirt Sports to see all their patterns.

3. They slightly compress
I LOVE this about these capris! They aren’t actual compression grade capris, and it could be that I bought too small of a size, but they feel slightly compression-like and  that is great for running!

4. Not too hot and not too cold
I wear these for running when it is between about 40 and 70 degrees. They keep you warm on those chilly runs when it’s not quite cold enough for pants. They are also  lightweight enough for the hotter days. Anything over 70, they are a little too thick to wear and I get overheated. Now, if you’re just wearing them out and about, they are just fine in hot weather. 😉

5. The back pocket comes in handy!
There is a small, zippered pocket in the back. It’s perfect for keys and a credit card/ID. They do have a new product out called the Pocketopia Capri that is almost the same as the Redemption but with MORE pockets. I find my Redemption Capri just fine, in terms of pockets. If I need extra storage, I have a handy-dandy run belt from SLS3.

If you want to check out the Redemption Capri, you can find them online HERE or stop by the store in Boulder, CO!
